Angel in Flight
Forgive me! I have reached too high.
I saw an Angel mount the sky,
unfold her wings in heavenly flight
borne upon celestial light.
I fashioned wings of hope and prayer
that I myself might join her there.
My longing grew into a cry—
and then I felt her soft reply:
"You cannot possess my gown,
for in truth it is your own.
This vision you pursue afar
is but your love of all you are!"
